	*Distribuzione di Pelobates syriacus* secondo IUCN**

L'area di diffusione della specie appare molto frammentata. P. syriacus è presente nel sud est del Balcani e della Transcaucasia, nel nord dell'Iran ed in Medio Oriente. Nei Balcani la specie è diffusa in Grecia, Macedonia, Serbia orientale, Romania meridionale, Bulgaria e Turchia europea. Estesamente diffusa, ma con popolazioni sparse, in Turchia. Nella regione del Caucaso si incontra del sud est dell'Armenia, in Georgia sud orientale, Azerbaijan, nel sud del Daghestan in Russia, e sulle coste sud occidentali del Mar Caspio in Iran. In Medio Oriente è diffusa del nord della Siria, nelle pianura costiere d'Israele [Ashdod], punto che rappresenta l'estremo limite meridionale della specie, probabilmente estinta in Giordania, dove non è stata più osservata dal 1984. Nel 2005 è stata segnalata in due località libanesi, nella valle di Hasbani e nella valle della Bekaa vicino alla palude di Aammiq. Si pensa che la specie sia presene anche in Albania, Ucraina e Moldova, ma non ci sono note che lo confermino. Le segnalazioni provenienti dal nord dell'Iraq necessitano conferma. Il pelobate di Siria vive dal livello del mare fino a circa 2.000 m di quota.
