Clupeonella sphaerocephala Berg, 1913. Herrings captured during the 1912 expedition along the western bank of the Caspian Sea. Mat. Pozn. Russ. Rybol., St. Petersburg 1-50; v. 2 (n° 3) 20 Pl. 12 (fig. 1, 1a). Sinonimo senior, combinazione originale, nomenclatura ICZN non valida.
