Distribuzione di Misgurnus anguillicaudatus, in blu le aree di origine.

 

In Kottelat, 1997, "European freshwater fishes. Biologia 52, Suppl. 5:1-271", a pagina 90 viene indicata questa specie come introdotta in Germania con la denominazione M. mizolepis (Günther 1888). Non vengono date indicazioni su dove la specie sia acclimatata. Razzetti et al. (2001) hanno segnalato l'introduzione della specie in acque italiane.
