Distribuzione di Alburnus alburnus secondo IUCN

 

Europa settentrionale (a eccezione della Penisola Scandinava settentrionale e occidentale, dell'Islanda, dell'Irlanda e della Gran Bretagna settentrionale e occidentale); Europa centrale (a eccezione della Bretagna).

Europa meridionale (non autoctona nella Penisola Iberica, in Italia centrale e meridionale, nella Grecia centrale e meridionale e nelle isole mediterranee); Asia occidentale (dal Circolo Polare Artico all'Anatolia nord-occidentale, a est sino agli Urali e alla Depressione Caspica).

Note sulla distribuzione - In Gran Bretagna la specie è attestata da alcuni ricercatori e negata da altri (forse perché alloctona). La sua distribuzione nei Balcani meridionali (Albania, Macedonia) è poco nota e controversa. La sua presenza in Crimea e nell'Anatolia nord occidentale è oggetto di discussione tra gli studiosi, in quanto si può facilmente confondere con altre specie di Alburnus presenti.
