Tipo: olotipo al Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales, Madrid, Spagna 82050157. Paratipi: MNCN 81081401-34 (34), altri paratipi sono conservati al Forschungsinstitut Senckenberg, Frankfurt, Germania 21214-15 (2).

Distribuzione di Squalius carolitertii secondo IUCN

 

Specie diffusa nel nord ovest della Spagna e nel nord del Portogallo. Presente nei bacini dei fiumi Duero, Mondego, Umia, Limia, Tago, Miño e Lérez.
