Note sulla sistematica - Recentemente è stato cambiato il genere da Leuciscus a Squalius (Zardoya e Doadrio 1999, Sanjur et al., 2003).

Distribuzione di Squalius carolitertii secondo IUCN

 

Specie diffusa nel nord ovest della Spagna e nel nord del Portogallo. Presente nei bacini dei fiumi Duero, Mondego, Umia, Limia, Tago, Miño e Lérez.
