Vimba melanops (Heckel, 1837). Ann. Wien. Mus. Naturges. v. 2 154 Pl. 8 (fig. 3). Sinonimo senior, nuova combinazione, nomenclatura ICZN valida.

Abramis melanops Heckel, 1837. Ichthyologische Beiträge zu den Familien der Cottoiden, Scorpaenoiden, Gobioiden und Cyprinoiden. Ann. Wien. Mus. Naturges. 143-164; v. 2 154 Pl. 8 (fig. 3). Sinonimo senior, combinazione originale, nomenclatura ICZN non valida. Opinioni - Nomenclatura valida come Abramis melanops Heckel 1837, secondo Berg 1949:788. Sinonimo di Vimba vimba (Linnaeus 1758), ma valida sottospecie, per Lelek 1987:243. Nomenclatura valida come Vimba melanops (Heckel 1837), secondo Economidis 1995:207, Kottelat 1997:86, Bogutskaya 1997:180, Pehlivanov 2000:47. Località tipo: fiume Maritza (Marizza), Rumelia, Bulgaria. Tipo: nessuno. Sintipi: NMW 55270 (1).

Distribuzione di Vimba melanops secondo IUCN


L'area di distribuzione della specie è ristretto a Tessaglia, Macedonia e Tracia, in Grecia e al fiume Evros al confine tra Grecia e Turchia. La vimba macedone viene anche segnalata in Bulgaria e nella Repubblica di Macedonia.
