Distribuzione europea di Micropterus salmoides

 

 

Specie originaria del Nord America: Bacini del San Lorenzo, Grandi Laghi, Baia di Hudson (Fiume Rosso), fiume Mississippi; bacini afferenti all'Oceano Atlantico dalla Nord Carolina alla Florida ed al nord del Messico. La specie è stata largamente introdotta per scopi alieutici ed adesso è praticamente cosmopolita. In Italia il persico trota è stato introdotto in buona parte delle acque lacustri ed in gran parte dei fiumi di pianura, dove ha trovato un ambiente favorevole alla sua acclimatazione.
