Distribuzione di Economidichthys pigmaeus secondo IUCN

  

 

Specie diffusa esclusivamente in Grecia occidentale a nord del Golfo di Patrasso, inclusa l'isola di Leuca (dove forse si è estinta). La sua presenza è accertata nei fiumi Louros e Arahthos, e nel lago Trichonis. Probabilmente vive nel fiume Mataranga, nonostante questo corso d'acqua si prosciughi quasi del tutto in estate. Si trova anche nel bacino inferiore dei fiumi Kalamas e Acheloo, nel lago Pahvotis (dove è introdotta), nella sorgente di Blykos, e nel torrente Agios Dimitrios. La sua presenza più a nord ed in Albania deve essere confermata.
