Distribuzione di Liza ramada secondo IUCN

 

 

Specie diffusa nei bacini dei mari Mediterraneo e Mar Nero, e lungo le coste orientali dell'Oceano Atlantico, dalle Isole di Capo Verde e dal Senegal a nord fino al mar Baltico meridionale ed alle isole britanniche (Scozia settentrionale esclusa). Migra a nord in estate. Una popolazione Landlocked nella diga Fratel in Portogallo. Introdotta e acclimatata nel Lago Kinneret (Israele). In Italia introdotta a più riprese, senza acclimatazione, in molti laghi interni (Albano, Bolsena, Bracciano, Trasimeno).
