Note tassonomiche - Non è ancora chiaro se altre forme di coregoni simpatriche, presenti nell'area, siano o meno conspecifiche di C. baerii. Tra queste citiamo il "Ladoga common whitefish" (C. baerii natio ladogae), il coregone "Svir" (C. baerii natio swirensis) ed il coregone "Onega" (C. poljakovi).
