Note sulla sistematica - La tassonomia della specie non è ancora molto chiara. Sotto il nome C. peled, gli autori russi riconoscono quattro gruppi di popolazioni, che in parte vivono in simpatria e che potrebbero essere specie distinte. Una popolazione fluviale, con fase trofica e aree di frega nel fiume, diffusa nei bacini dal fiume Mezen al fiume Jenissei. Una forma fluvio-lacustre, diffusa negli stessi bacini, con eccezione del fiume Ob. Una forma di lago dalle grandi dimensioni (fino a 440 mm SL), con deposizione lacustre. Una forma nana lacustre (fino a 250 mm SL), con vita e riproduzione nei laghi, e con corpo di forma affusolata e livrea ornata da file di piccole macchie scure. Tra queste popolazioni, attualmente non è chiaro quale sia il "vero" C. Peled riportato in letteratura.
