Distribuzione di Ictalurus punctatus in Italia

 

Specie originaria del Nord America: dai bacini centrali degli Stati Uniti al sud del Canada ed al Messico settentrionale. Il pesce gatto punteggiato è stato introdotto in molti paesi a scopo d'allevamento alimentare ed alieutico, in molti casi la specie si è acclimatata. In Italia la specie è alloctona, acclimatata nel corso medio inferiore dell’Arno e nel bacino del Po.
