	*Distribuzione di Macroprotodon cucullatus* secondo IUCN**

L'area di distribuzione della specie comprende gran parte del nord Africa mediterraneo, comprese le regioni aride dell'Egitto orientale e del meridione di Israele. In Europa, è presente solamente sull'isola italiana di Lampedusa ed a Minorca e Majorca, dove però è stata introdotta. Macroprotodon cucullatus preferisce le zone di pianura e costiere, ma esistono popolazioni che si spingono fino a 2.500 metri di quota (Marocco).
