	*Distribuzione di Montivipera xanthina* secondo IUCN**

In Europa è limitata al nord est della Grecia ed all'area di Istanbul (Turchia europea). Montivipera xanthina è anche presente nelle isole greche di Lesbos, Chios, Samos, Patmos, Leipsoi, Leros, Kalymnos, Kos, Symi, Chalki e Oenousses. In Turchia occupa tutta l'Anatolia occidentale, meridionale e centrale. La specie può vivere dal livello del mare fino a quote superiori ai 2.500 metri.
